Schwörfest 2026 — from the Marktplatz to the DICK in ten minutes
Schwörfest runs from 3 to 5 July 2026 — UNESCO intangible cultural heritage since 2021. What Schwörtag means, when the Marktplatz fills up, and where your table is still free.
From 3 to 5 July 2026 Esslingen celebrates the Schwörfest — the Schwörtag has been UNESCO intangible heritage since 2021. The Lord Mayor takes the oath in the Schwörhof, then the Marktplatz and Altstadt fill with stages, wine stalls and Swabian classics.
Where it gets tight
Marktplatz, Rathausplatz, Hafenmarkt — three stages, three crowds. By 19:00 a seat gets rare. From the Marktplatz to us: ten minutes on foot through the Altstadt, past Klein Venedig, over the bridge to the DICK.
What Schwörtag means
It's the renewal of a promise between city and citizens — as old as the Middle Ages. Today: a weekend in which Esslingen demonstrates that the city is no administration but a community. We're open Friday and Saturday until 02:00, Sunday as usual.
When the Marktplatz sings, our table runs calm. That's what we're for.
